Hurricane Harvey
We are continuing to pray for Houston following the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. Two resources that can help you get involved either by serving or donating are Unite the Church and Awaken My City.
DONATE
If you are looking to donate resources, Dallas County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) member Trusted World will be taking donations. Clothing in good conditions, toiletries, hygiene products, and non-perishable food will be accepted. The drop off location is open daily 3-8 p.m. They are in need of new underwear and socks, toiletries/hygiene products, and baby formula, wipes, and diapers.
GIVE & VOLUNTEER
If you want to give, some of the best known options are Samaritan’s Purse, Salvation Army, and World Vision. Samaritan’s Purse also has volunteer teams deploying to the coast if you’re interested in helping hands-on. If you desire to volunteer with Red Cross or Samaritan’s Purse, please pursue getting certified early. These organizations are getting plenty of volunteers currently, but they will need many more in the next few weeks. Volunteer certification takes an hour or two, so if you can pursue certification now you will be able to respond quickly to the growing need later.
If you would like to give directly to churches helping with flood relief in the Houston area, here are a couple of options. Money will go toward basic necessities including food, bedding, clothing, baby formula, diapers, and bottles.

Thank you for praying and giving.
