The Gospel of Luke

The Gathering is currently studying the Gospel of Luke, guided by insights from A Theology of Luke and Acts by Darrell Bock. This class is designed as a discussion-based environment, where participants are encouraged to ask questions, share observations, and engage the text together throughout the session. While we value good lectures, this class is especially for those who enjoy learning through thoughtful conversation and interaction.
Our study of Luke focuses on understanding who Jesus is and what His coming means for God’s plan of salvation. As Darrell Bock emphasizes, Luke presents Jesus as the promised Messiah whose life, teaching, death, and resurrection reveal God’s compassion, faithfulness, and saving purpose for all people. Luke invites readers to see how God’s promises unfold in real history and how following Jesus reshapes our understanding of discipleship, grace, and mission.
If you enjoy engaging Scripture in a welcoming, conversational setting—and want to grow in your understanding of Jesus and the good news—The Gathering is a great place to be.
